Georgia Bafoutsou holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering and has extensive expertise in electronic communications security and privacy.
From 2006 to 2020, she served as a security auditor at the Hellenic Authority for Communications Security and Privacy, where she investigated security incidents, audited electronic communication network and service providers, and promoted cybersecurity best practices.
Since 2020, she has been working at the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), focusing on the telecommunications, digital infrastructure, and health sectors.
Her work includes contributing to the implementation and technical alignment of cybersecurity policies under the NIS2 Directive.
Georgia has also been actively involved in ENISA's Awareness Raising and Education Team, where she has contributed to fostering cybersecurity awareness and driving behavioural change among citizens, businesses, and organizations.
