Célia Reis

Célia Reis is Computer Engineer from Sciences and Technology Faculty of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and completed an MBA at AESE Escola de Direção e Negócios, being continuously connected to the ITC challenges and its transforming role in the society.

In 1991, she started her career working in Xerox mainly in Pre-sales for the Public Sector. From early days, Célia always had a strong drive for entrepreneurship so, in 1996, with a small group of entrepreneurs, she founds Global N SA, developing decision support systems both in Portugal and Brazil. In 2001, the company is integrated with the Altran Group, the undisputed global leader in Engineering and R&D services (ER&D), with some 47,000 employees in more than 30 countries.

Since then, Célia Reis was in charge of the merging an consolidation process of the Altran Group in Portugal, becoming the CEO in 2009. In 2013, she launched the building blocks of the Portugal Global Engineering Center for the Altran Group, in Fundão and, in 2016, in Porto.

Moreover, Célia has had several leading roles within the Altran Group.

Currently, Célia Reis plays the role of CEO of Altran Portugal, managing over 2500 people, 1500 of those working exclusively for international projects. Throughout her career, Célia Reis has been involved with actions promoting Women in Engineering and IT and, in 2018, she launches the We Can Do I.T. campaign, in partnership with the Portuguese Government and several education institutions.
She is a strong believer in the role of Portugal as nearshore technology platform, working with several work groups both nationally and internationally.
